Yes, you can live your best life!

Posts Tagged ‘a blessed life

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about Happiness and Contentment. I’m 39 years old and I live a blessed life compared to many. No, I’m not super rich nor do I get to take exotic vacations every year. But, I’m healthy, I have a roof over my head, food in my tummy and clean water to drink. Those things alone put me ahead of many. I find in this life I’m happy because I’m content. You see to me, happiness is a feeling and can come and go like the wind. But, true contemptment is a state of mind and being and will not change regardless of the situation.
I remember setting certain goals in life and I just knew that if I met those goals it would make me happy. But, in reality when I did eventually meet my set goals, yes I was happy for a moment. But then that moment passed and I was off to find the next thing that would bring me happiness.

You see, with the pursuit of happiness you’ll never be happy because happiness is fluent and can change like the weather. You can look at other people’s lives and wish you were happy like them. But who said they were actually happy? Smiling for a picture is an easy task. Yes, they are on a great vacation, but are they in debt for that moment of fun? Yes those relationships people protray on social media seem like matches in Heaven, but you never know what someone is going through secretly. I’ve learned early on to never envy the appearance of anything.

But with contentment you’re not easily swayed by the emotion of happiness. I remember when I lived in an apartment with my children. Sure one day I wanted to provide them with a single family home with a yard. But until that time happened, I treated that apartment like it was a million dollar masion. I was content because it supplied our needs and I kept it cleaned because it was a gift from God. I truly believe God won’t bless you with more until you learn to appreciate what you already have.

So daily I practice the art of contentment. Being content makes me happy. Being content helps me to focus on the blessings of my now. Being content helps me to appreciate my present. Yes, I have goals I want to accomplish in life. But on my way to accomplishing them, I’m content with the pace.

So often I speak to people who are not happy with their lives. Everyday has become a routine and they feel stuck. I can honestly say that I’ve been there before. But, one thing you gotta keep pressing for is a better life. This doesn’t always mean becoming a millionaire. It actually can start with having peace of mind.

You see everything starts in the mind. If you want a better life, you gotta see it first. If you want a better job, you have to envision yourself working there first. Whatever your dream is to do or become, you must see it in your mind first.

When God created you, he had so much in store for you. So much in store that goes beyond working everyday then dying. God placed a purpose inside of you and he wants you to carry out your purpose. He wants you to empty yourself out so that there’s nothing left when it’s your time to make your tranision from this earth.

Life is not meant for you to simply work, pay bills then die.

I want to encourage you to find out what your passion and purpose is and begin to fully live life on purpose.

I personally don’t think of myself as a quiet person because i’m a exorvert and I love people. But, I can have periods of time in which I recognize it’s time to quiet myself and listen to my Creator.

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

I am a woman of faith and one who knows how to pray to get results. To me, prayer doesn’t have to be a certain time of the day. Nor, does it have to be for a certain reason for me to pray. But, prayer needs to be something that happens all the time. There is always something to pray about.

When I’m driving in my car, I’m praying. When my I tuck my children into their beds, I’m praying. When I’m with my patients, I’m praying. When I am in the shower, I’m praying.

Prayer is a covering!

I want to encourage you to always pray. Prayer changes things. Prayer is a conversation with God. It’s in prayer that will you find answers.

We all have a past. For many, some of the decisions that were made were not the best. But regardless, all decisions have led you to be who you are today. Yes, better choices could have your life on a different path, but you have to stop beating yourself up and keep pushing forward. Focus on the present and how to make your future better.

If you keep allowing yourself to focus on past mistakes, you will never see the blessings of today. God is so forgiving despite what people think. But often it’s us who can’t forgive ourselves.

If in the past a business venture didn’t work out, try it again. Do something different than before. Put a twist on it.  Faith will take you a long way. If a relationship ended that you wanted badly, cry hard one good time and let it go. There is someone out there who wants to love you. You are amazing.

Never accept defeat!

The past is there to teach us, but we can’t wallow in it. If God has given you a new day, take hold of it and make the best of it. You are awesome. You are not your past. You have potentional.

Believe in yourself and your future!

I believe we are the hands and feet of God. He created each of us with a purpose. He created each of is with the ability to love. Love is a choice, as well as, wanting to help others.

My passion is to help others in need. I personally can only do so much that is why I have asked for the help of others to aid me in blessing others.
